Not All Traits Are Valued The Same
People are complex beings with a variety of different traits that form their personality. In other words, there's no one quite like you! But if you look at all the little things that make people who they are, you'll notice some traits get huge rounds of applause while others get groans from the crowds. That's because not all traits are valued equally. Here are 10 personality traits that people absolutely can't stand and 10 that everyone loves.
1. Stubborn
It's one thing being confident about what you know, it's another being so stubborn that you refuse to accept anyone else's opinion. People who have too much of this trait tend to make others feel as if their voice is being completely ignored and tossed to the side. Now that's one feeling no one appreciates.

2. Arrogant
Confidence can be a very attractive trait until too much of it takes things in a turn for the worse. Arrogance is a universally disliked trait that makes people think they're better than those around them. No one enjoys feeling like they're being belittled all the time!
3. Blunt
Honesty is always appreciated, but you have to know when something is too much to say and how to best phrase difficult words. When you say things too bluntly, it can come across as if you're trying to hurt the other person even if you don't mean to. It's a matter of having good social skills!

4. Strict
It's one thing playing things by the book, it's another if you always force it on people in a way that makes them uncomfortable or restricts them. People who are too strict simply are no fun. It can be hard enjoying their company when they're always trying to follow the rules and impose them on others too.
5. Selfish
No, the whole world doesn't revolve around you. Individuals who treat themselves like they're the star of the show all the time can be exhausting to deal with. Whether it's only talking about how their own day went or placing their needs before others, all it does is demonstrate they have no room to build healthy relationships.
6. Dishonest
How could you possibly be friends with someone if you can't trust a single thing that comes out of their mouth? People who lie, twist the truth, or hide important facts from you aren't the kind of company you want to keep around. We're all too busy with our own lives to spare the time and energy trying to playing guessing games.
7. Manipulative
It can be scary being around someone who you never know what they're going to do next. Are they your friend? Are they just trying to benefit themselves? People who are manipulative are essentially toxic; they're out for themselves and won't hesitate to use you to get what you want.
8. Immature
Being immature is completely different from having a bubbly, light-hearted personality. While having a childlike wonder about you makes you curious and open to new things, being immature simply means you act like a child in situations you shouldn't be. It's important to know when you have to be serious and immature people just never get the memo.
9. Irresponsible
People want to have friends, not little sisters, brothers, or kids they have to babysit all the time! Knowing you can trust someone to do something you ask is everything; that's because the opposite just feels like a lot of work! No one enjoys spending time with someone you can't rely on to handle the smallest (or biggest) of tasks.
10. Indecisive
Dealing with individuals who can't decide on what they want for dinner is annoying enough, but indecisive people who can't make up their mind on big, important matters is the worst. Not being able to answer such questions, especially when in a relationship, can be a lot more damaging than most people realize.
1. Kind
It might sound a bit cliche but kindness truly is one of the best traits you can find in someone. It's hard not to love being next to someone who loves everyone equally, cares about your wellbeing, and does things with your best intentions in mind.

2. Humorous
What's life without a few laughs along the way? People love spending time with others who know how to put a smile on their face and make every minute together enjoyable. It's not just about being funny, it's also about being with others who share the same sense of humor. That's when you know you're with someone who clicks well with you.
3. Easygoing
There's nothing like having someone in your life that knows how to calm you down, especially when you're high on nerves. Easygoing people are as easy to be with as breathing. They know how to interact with others, making them feel right at home even if it's the first meeting. It's easy to love these kinds of people!
4. Selfless
Knowing when to step back and put others first can be a harder task for some than you might realize. After all, we're wired to look out for ourselves! But selfless people don't struggle with this challenge; they're not afraid to share and give to others in need because they know that sometimes, providing a helping hand can be the greatest gift of all.
5. Empathetic
What's life if you aren't able to connect with others around you? Being able to express empathy and understand what others are going through is a highly valued trait that most people look for in a friend. It can make the darkest times seem a bit brighter knowing you're with someone who cares, shares in your feelings, and is doing everything they can to understand.
6. Positive
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Those who follow and live by this motto are some of the best people to surround yourself with. Instead of weighing you down with negative thoughts that can make situations worse, positive people love lifting you up with bright perspectives that help you get through any and all challenges.
7. Brave
Bravery doesn't mean being able to take a fist fight, it means knowing when to stand up for the right thing and being unafraid to step out of your comfort zone. These are the kinds of people who grow with every hurdle in life, and they're exactly who you want to keep in your inner circle - they'll help you grow too!
8. Respectful
Whether it's respecting your boundaries, your beliefs, or who you are as a person, this is one trait that is at the foundation of every relationship. It doesn't matter if it's with a friend, lover, or family member, you have to be respectful if you want to grow the relationship. It's what makes people feel safe and comfortable.
9. Loyal
At the end of the day, all people really want is to be with someone who will be by their side no matter what. Loyal individuals value relationships and will always be there to give you support. In a more common term, these are who you'd call your "ride or dies."
10. Dependable
Nothing feels more reassuring than knowing you have people who you can rely on through the thick and thin of life. Everyone experiences challenges, but it's not so bad when you've got dependable people who always have your back. It makes everything thrown at you seem all the easier to get through.
